Some games out there have great gameplay but their graphics sometimes look like they were designed on Linux in the nineties. This way bad iPhone ports that don't fit on our screens or games that don't bother to support HD devices like tablets will be weeded out. That means no letter-boxing or low res graphics. Games must be designed for Android and look correct on all of it's screen resolutions. There is also a new trend of games being designed at the same time for consoles/pc as Android (such as Leisure Suit Larry or Shadowrun Returns), games desinged like these (with touch controls in mind at the start of developing) will be included on the site as well. Ports of touch based games from DS and PS Vita will be allowed as well as ports such as World of Goo or Chu Chu Rocket that happen to lend themselves quite nicely to touchscreen play. No ports of games that are controller designed (SNK ports, Sega ports, Rockstar Games ports and DotEmu ports). IAPs will only be allowed if they unlock the full game with a single purchase or removes ads in an already full versioned game. There will not be any games listed that have pay walls or wait times. There will be certain criteria I will hold of all of the games I post. So after the brief bulletpoints there will be the devs description of the game from Google Play/Amazon Appstore. Sadly I will not be including reviews as I am not the best writer and it would take up too much time to play the game to finish and then write a worthy review about that experience. All of these things I will verify myself by playing the game. Gamepad support and if the game plays in landscape, portrait or both will also be included in the description. There will also be a description of whether the game supports Google Play Services or whether the game supports immersive mode from Android 4.4. Also listed will be info on if the game has multiplayer, if so what kind of multiplayer (online, local wifi, pass and play). This list will consist of information like the up front price or the price of a one time IAP that unlocks the full game or removes ads on an already full game. I will also upload every screenshot in it's original resolution (from a Nexus 7 2013) to also give a truer impression of how a game looks.įor each game posted on the site I will have a brief bullet point list. I feel there is a great advantage to taking my own screenshots as I will not crop them (like so many on the Play Store are) so everyone can get a true sense of how the game looks on screen. Second, I will personally take the screenshots (on a Nexus 7 2013) of the games downloaded on my device. Obviously it will take time to do this so for now there are not a lot of games listed on the site. It will also have the advantage of leting me find out what kind of multiplayer (online, local wifi, pass and play) a game has as a lot of times the game description is not clear. This way I will also know for sure if the game is designed to scale properly and has graphics that are high res for tablets and newer phones. First I will ensure that every game is free of needless IAPs, paywalls or wait times by playing the games myself. Having grown the list inside of /u/ezzarons post (and still having even more I want to add to it) it has become apparent that I might have posted some games that didn't deserve to be on the list as I have not played every single one. After seeing this post in r/android and then thinking more about this post made by /u/ezzatron last week that had two lists compiled for ethical and tolerable games that was influenced by my list I figured I should maybe create something out of the list of games I had made. I have decided to put together a tumblr site that is dedicated to honest Android games. I am exclusively working on the Android games side of things. Edit2 - for those that liked Honest Android Games or are still interested in a pro consumer site that has games listed to answer questions such as what the best non IAP games are or what the best free games are then I am please to let everyone know that I have been working with a team of Redditors on a site called.
